U 47 fet Collector’s Edition Condenser Microphone from Neumann is a re-release of this often-copied microphone. A transistorized version of their tube U 47, the U 47 fet features their classic K 47 capsule and boasts a high SPL handling, and has historically found itself at home outside of a kick drum and in front of loud guitar and bass amps, contributing greatly to recordings from the 1960s and 70s. Like the original, there is a slight boost in frequency response around 2 kHz.
